In the Salesian Institute, Junior Sisters (also known as Temporary Professed Sisters) receive ongoing formation and mission guidance to deepen their commitment and prepare for Final Profession.
.
Mission
Deepen Salesian Spirituality: Embody the charism, virtues, and values of St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello.
Apostolic Engagement: Participate in Salesian ministries (education, youth work, social services) with a focus on the young and poor.
Community Life: Strengthen bonds with fellow sisters, sharing responsibilities and supporting one another.
Personal Growth: Pursue spiritual, intellectual, and emotional development.
.
Formation
The formation program includes several key components: Spiritual Accompaniment, providing regular guidance from experienced spiritual directors; Theological Studies to deepen understanding of Salesian spirituality, theology, and scripture; and Pedagogy and Education to develop teaching and educational skills.
It also emphasizes Salesian History and Charism, focusing on the congregation’s history, founders, and mission, along with Apostolic Skills for training in youth ministry, catechesis, and social services. Leadership and Teamwork development prepares participants for future leadership roles, while Prayer and Reflection offer regular times for prayer, meditation, and contemplation of personal experiences. Finally, the program promotes Community Service through active engagement in outreach, volunteer work, and social justice initiatives.
Goals
The goal is to deepen commitment to Salesian life and mission, developing apostolic skills for effective ministry while fostering spiritual growth and personal development. Emphasis is placed on strengthening community bonds and teamwork to create a supportive and unified environment. This journey prepares individuals for Final Profession and a lifelong commitment to the Salesian vocation.
