Catechetical Animation Report
2023 – 2024
The Catechetical seminar was piloted in different schools for students and staff, where nearly 750 students and 225 staff participated with enthusiasm. The seminars commemorated both for the students and staff at Tiruvottiyur Our Lady’s Hr. Sec. School on 07/07/2023, St. Francis Xavier’s Anglo Indian Hr. Sec. School and Our Lady’s Centre Matric. School, Broadway on 17/07/2023 and 18/07/2023, Thanjavur on 05/08/2023 and at Ragunathapuram on 07/08/23, Therespuram on 06/10/2023 coordinated by Sr. Arokianathan Verginia Mary. The seminar for the students was animated at forenoon and for the teachers in the afternoon. The students and staff during the day of their session initiated the seminar with a prayer and welcome speech. The superiors of the concerned schools and houses were present to inaugurate the day’s session with their inspiring words. They spoke on the urgency of Catechesis in our Catholic schools with the spirit of our founders Don Bosco and Mary Mozzarella. They requested the staff and the students to read and assimilate the word of God as the Holy Father recommends the family and school.
For staff members Sr. Arokianathan Verginia Mary, presented the Post- Synodal Apostolic Exhortation “Amoris Laetitia” the joy of the gospel. As Pope Francis summons all families to a viable destination, as families resemble God. In the joy of loving and being loved by one another, we empathize with the ecstasy of loving and being loved by God. Amoris Laetitia also includes an extended reflection on the meaning of love in the day to day fidelity of family life. He presumes: ’a love that coexists with imperfection, helps bear all things and can hold its peace before the limitations of the loved one. The Pope reminds us that in order to discover the joy of love we should try to see each person in an unfinished product stipulated to grow – a work in progress- especially in marriage.
Family relationship provides resources that can help and individual cope with stress engage in healthy behaviours and enhance self-esteem leading to higher wellbeing a good family relationship is possible only by prompt and effective communication spending quality time together protecting and caring for each other and provide emotional and other support the impact of a serene family emphasizes on forgiveness and essentials of silence.
For Catholic students Sr. Arockianathan Verginia Mary, offered the First three chapters from the Post- Synodal Apostolic Exhortation of the Holy Father, “Christus Vivit “Christ is Alive, is dedicated to young people in 2019. Many games such as ice break, Word games, finding out the word of God which say about young people and mime presentation and breaking the balloons to find out the life of the Saints. Students actively participated in the seminar. The final evaluation of the students popped up with so many positive reviews such as youngsters are capable of doing new, right things in the order of this digital world. Contemplating the young Jesus as represented in the gospel and youth is a period of time, it is a state of mind.
