Participation from the Province
Sr. Antony Lourdu Sagayam, Sr. Anthony Rayappan Jothy, Sr. Mahimai Raj Jaya Sharmila, and Sr. Sundaram Bernadette Neha represented the province at the South Asia ACSSA Regional Seminar held from 27 to 29 June 2025 at the Salesian Provincial House, Bangalore.

Commemorating a Historic Milestone
Organized in preparation for the 150th anniversaries of the first Salesian missionary expeditions—SDB in 2025 and FMA in 2027—the seminar brought together 40 participants from across South Asia. The event served as a key initiative in recalling and honoring the rich missionary heritage of the Salesian family.
Theme and Presentations
The central theme of the seminar, “Salesian Missions in the World,” focused on evangelization efforts, particularly in South Asia. Over the three days, participants engaged with 20 scholarly presentations exploring various dimensions of the Salesian missionary journey—historical, cultural, and spiritual—both at regional and global levels.
A Platform for Reflection and Inspiration
The seminar provided a meaningful space for deep reflection and dialogue on the legacy and future of Salesian missions. It allowed the participants to rediscover the missionary zeal that continues to animate Salesian life and work in different contexts.
Acknowledgments
We express our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Sr. Philomena D’Souza FMA, Regional President, and Fr. Mathew Kapplikunnel SDB, Regional Secretary of ACSSA, for their effective planning and coordination of this significant event.
